Stephon, known to some as Steve-the-cat, passed away early morning on November 1, 2007. He become very sick about a week earlier. After a couple days at the hospital it was determine that he had bladder cancer and a tumor was preventing him from urinating and was blocking the flow from one of his kidneys. A catheter that had been in place since Monday was removed Wednesday evening. We had hoped that he would be able to urinate on his own so that he could come home for a short period of time. Unfortunately that could not happen. We were called back to the hospital at about 3:30AM.  Stephon had all of the extra tubes, tape, and hospital garb off and he was a clean, friendly, very weak kitty when we arrived.  We were able to say goodbye. The veterinarian gave Stephon a powerful sedative and he fall asleep while laying comfortably on Jon’s lap being pet by both of us.

His presence is so sorely missed by all of us.
